AI visibility checker

You can check right now, for free and without creating an account, whether AI assistants cite your brand: the checker lives on the homepage, in the instant test — enter your domain and get a first AI visibility score in seconds. Prefer to check by hand? The three-step manual method is below, along with what the automated checker tests and where its honest limits are.

Manual method · 3 steps

How do you check by hand if AI mentions your brand?

Ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity the questions your buyers actually ask, in a private window; look for your brand in each answer; then repeat the exact same questions over time. Three steps, zero budget — and a real first diagnosis, as long as you treat any single answer with caution.

01

Ask your buyers' questions in private mode

Open ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity in a private window, logged out, so your history doesn't color the answers. Phrase the questions the way buyers do: "best [your category] for…", "alternatives to [competitor]", "what would you recommend for [use case]?"

02

Look for your brand in each answer

Record whether your brand is named, at what position it appears — first, in the middle, at the end — and which competing brands are cited next to you, or instead of you. Note it engine by engine: each assistant forms its own idea of your brand.

03

Repeat the same questions over time

One pass is a snapshot, not a measurement. Re-ask the same questions, phrased the same way, every week or month, and keep a record. The trend across repeated checks is what tells you whether your AI visibility is moving.

Volatility

Why can a one-shot check mislead you?

Because AI assistants are probabilistic: the same question can yield different answers from one run to the next. A model can cite you once and forget you the next time — so a single check can mislead you in either direction, making you look visible when you got lucky, or invisible when you didn't.

That variance is normal, and it's why we repeat every prompt over several runs in our own measurements: repetition turns a fragile yes/no into a citation frequency, more representative of your real AI visibility than any single answer. Slight variations between two measurements are expected, and don't necessarily signal a real change.

If you check by hand, apply the same principle: never conclude from one answer, and re-test before celebrating or panicking. How we generate the questions, query the engines and where the limits of the measurement are is documented in full on the methodology page.

The automated checker

What does the automated checker test?

The checker on the homepage runs the Free plan's instant check: it turns your domain into a small panel of about 10 buyer-style questions, asks them to ChatGPT, smooths the result over multiple runs, and returns a first AI visibility score in seconds — free, no signup, no credit card.

ChatGPT Gemini · Google Search grounding Claude Perplexity Grok

Paid plans extend the same measurement to more engines: Starter (€79/mo) covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity; Pro (€199/mo) covers all five — ChatGPT, Gemini with Google Search grounding, Claude, Perplexity and Grok; Enterprise is on quote. Full details on the pricing page.

From every answer, four signals are extracted — and the raw answers are kept, so every number stays traceable back to its source:

Mention and citation rate

How often your brand is named across the questions and runs tested — a smoothed frequency rather than a one-off yes/no.

Average position

Where your brand appears in the answer: being named first doesn't carry the same weight as a mention at the end of the list.

Share of voice

Your weight against the competing brands cited on the same questions — included on paid plans, engine by engine and overall.

Trigger prompts

The questions that make the AI cite you, and those where competitors are cited in your place, so you know where to act.

Honest limits

What can't the checker tell you?

No visibility checker is omniscient, and we'd rather say so. The free check covers a single engine, no tool can guarantee you'll be cited, and every result is a snapshot within a time window. Here is exactly where the boundaries are.

The free check covers one engine

The instant check runs on ChatGPT — the Free plan's engine. Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Grok require a paid plan, and Google AI Overviews are not queried at all. Treat a free result as a first signal, not the full picture.

It measures, it doesn't guarantee

GEO console is a measurement and diagnostic tool, not a promise of presence. Being cited depends on your content, your reputation and the sources the models rely on. The checker shows where you stand and what to improve — improving it is covered in our GEO guide.

Every result is a snapshot

Engines evolve, the web changes, competitors move — and answers vary between runs even when nothing changed. A result is reliable within its time window; the trend across repeated measurements is what deserves your attention.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us most often about checking AI visibility.

Is the AI visibility checker really free?

Yes. The instant check on the homepage is free, with no signup and no credit card: enter your domain and you get a first visibility score in seconds. It runs on ChatGPT, with the result smoothed over multiple runs. Paid plans add more engines, competitor tracking, share of voice and history.

Which AI engines does the checker test?

The free instant check queries ChatGPT. Paid plans extend the measurement: Starter (€79/mo) covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and Pro (€199/mo) covers all five engines — ChatGPT, Gemini with Google Search grounding, Claude, Perplexity and Grok. Google AI Overviews are not queried.

Why does the same question give a different answer each time?

Because AI assistants are probabilistic: the same prompt can produce different wording, different brands and a different order from one run to the next. A single check can mislead you in either direction. That's why GEO console repeats each prompt over several runs and reports a citation frequency rather than a one-off result.

Can the checker guarantee that AI assistants will cite my brand?

No, and no honest tool can. GEO console is a measurement and diagnostic tool: it shows where you're cited, where competitors are cited instead, and which prompts trigger you. Being cited depends on your content, your reputation and the sources the models rely on — we measure it, we don't promise it.
