How we compared the tools
A comparison is only as honest as its method. We scored each tool on five criteria you can verify yourself: which AI engines it actually queries, what its published pricing says, what its hard limits are (prompt quotas, plan gates, languages), whether you can try it for free, and what the vendor itself admits it does not do. Nothing below comes from a sales call or a review aggregator.
- Engines covered. Not the marketing list, but what each plan really includes. Several vendors advertise six to ten engines while their entry plan covers one, three or four.
- Published pricing. Only prices visible on official pricing pages (or embedded in their page code when the numbers are rendered client-side, which we flag). All prices were checked on June 12, 2026 and can change.
- Hard limits. Prompt quotas, projects, seats, languages, plan-gated features such as API access or single sign-on.
- Free entry. Free plan, free trial, free checker — and whether the trial duration is actually published.
- Vendor claims vs. facts. Customer counts and growth numbers are reported as what they are: self-reported vendor claims, with the source linked.
Disclosure, up front. GEO console is our product. It appears first in this list, so we hold it to the same grid as everyone else and we state its limits explicitly — including the engines it does not track and how young it is.
GEO console — five conversational assistants, flat published pricing
GEO console is our product, so read this section as a vendor describing itself, held to the same structure as the rest. GEO console is a search-console-style tracker for AI assistants: it runs your real customer questions against the assistants, records whether your brand is mentioned, in which position, with which sources, and computes your share of voice against competitors over time. The methodology is fully published.
Engines covered
Five conversational assistants: ChatGPT, Gemini (with Google Search grounding), Claude, Perplexity and Grok. The Free plan queries ChatGPT only; Starter covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity; Pro covers all five. GEO console does not query Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot or Meta AI — more on that under limits.
Published pricing
- Free — €0/month. 1 site, around 10 prompts, ChatGPT only, each result smoothed over 3 runs. There is also a free AI visibility checker that requires no signup at all.
- Starter — €79/month. 50 tracked prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, automatic re-scan every 3 days, competitor tracking and share of voice, 90 days of history, unlimited seats.
- Pro — €199/month. All 5 engines including Claude and Grok, 150 prompts, 3 sites, daily tracking with prompt rotation, 1 year of history, exports, unlimited seats.
- Enterprise — on quote. Usage-metered volume, API and SSO, dedicated support.
Strengths
- Among the tools compared here, the Pro plan is the only published price that includes both Claude and Grok tracking (€199/month). Elsewhere, Claude sits behind enterprise quotes (Peec AI, Profound) or is absent (Otterly.AI, Semrush, Ahrefs, SE Ranking).
- A real €0 entry: free plan plus a no-signup checker, where most competitors offer a time-limited trial or a one-shot audit.
- €79/month entry for multi-engine tracking with competitors and share of voice included.
- Interface and reports in English and French; results smoothed over multiple runs rather than single noisy queries; unlimited seats on every paid plan.
Limits (the honest part)
- No Google AI Overviews or AI Mode tracking. If your traffic question is "how do I show up in Google's AI results", you need one of the tools below, not GEO console.
- No Microsoft Copilot, no Meta AI. Coverage is deliberately focused on five conversational assistants.
- Young product. 600+ AI answers analyzed and 15+ brands tracked so far — honest numbers, and small next to Peec AI's claimed 2,000+ teams or Otterly.AI's claimed 30,000+ marketing pros. We compensate with a published methodology you can audit.
- Integrations are limited: exports on Pro, API and SSO on Enterprise. There is no Looker Studio connector or MCP server today, which Peec AI, Otterly.AI and Knowatoa do offer.
If you want the detailed head-to-heads, see GEO console vs Peec AI, vs Otterly.AI, vs Profound and vs Knowatoa.
Peec AI — fast-moving analytics, three models included per plan
Peec AI is a Berlin-based AI search analytics platform for marketing teams: it tracks brand visibility, position and sentiment across AI search platforms, with daily prompt runs. It is the best-funded European player in this list — a $21M Series A led by Singular (November 2025), $29M raised in total — and its pricing page claims 2,000+ marketing teams as customers (a self-reported figure).
Engines covered
Standard plans let you choose 3 models out of 6 — ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity and Gemini — selected during onboarding, per the official pricing page. Tracking a fourth model is a paid add-on ($35 to $165/month depending on plan). Claude Sonnet 4, GPT-5 Search, Qwen and DeepSeek are Enterprise-only, tracked via API. The public changelog moves quickly: DeepSeek and Qwen were added in May 2026, Gemini 3 Flash (preview) in June 2026.
Published pricing
One caveat first: the numeric prices are rendered client-side with geo-detected currency (EUR for European visitors, USD otherwise) and are not visible in the static page. The values embedded in the pricing page's own code, as of June 12, 2026: Starter $95/month (€85) with 50 prompts and 1 project; Pro $245 (€205) with 150 prompts and 2 projects; Advanced $495 (€425) with 350 prompts, 5 projects and a Looker Studio integration; Enterprise on quote. Annual billing carries a stated 15% discount. Agency plans are credit-based from $245/month (10,000 credits), where 1 credit = 1 prompt × 1 model × 1 day. A free trial is offered, but no duration or free plan is published.
Strengths
- Unlimited users on all plans, and country/language tracking adds no extra cost — pricing scales with prompts and models, not seats or regions.
- Daily tracking cadence; results filterable by model, country and prompt tags.
- Strong integration stack: MCP, API, Google Looker Studio connector, CSV export, plus crawl insights for AI bots like GPTBot and ClaudeBot.
- Visibly fast product velocity (public changelog, new models within weeks of release).
Limits
- Only 3 of 6 models included; every extra model is a recurring paid add-on.
- Claude, GPT-5 Search, Qwen and DeepSeek tracking, API access and SSO are all Enterprise-only; Looker Studio starts at Advanced ($495).
- Starter is capped at 1 project and 1 country per project.
- No free plan; the free trial's duration is not published; prices are not visible without executing the page's JavaScript.
Otterly.AI — the cheapest entry, but Claude is missing
Otterly.AI, founded in 2024 in Vienna by Thomas Peham, Josef Trauner and Klaus-M. Schremser, monitors brand mentions and website citations in AI answers and adds GEO optimization features: prompt research, content audits with crawlability checks, brand sentiment and competitive benchmarking. It was named a Cool Vendor in the 2025 Gartner Cool Vendors for AI in Marketing and claims 30,000+ marketing professionals as users (self-reported).
Engines covered
Six engines supported in total — ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Mode and Gemini, per the official help center. But all paid plans include only 4 engines by default (ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, Copilot): Google AI Mode and Gemini are paid add-ons at $9 to $149/month each depending on tier. Claude tracking is listed as "coming soon" on the pricing page, i.e. not available as of June 12, 2026. Grok is not mentioned.
Published pricing
In USD, excluding tax: Lite $29/month ($25 annual) with 15 search prompts and 1,000 GEO URL audits/month; Standard $189/month ($160 annual) with 100 prompts, API access and MCP; Premium $489/month ($422 annual) with 400 prompts; Enterprise on quote with SSO. Extra prompts cost $99/month per 100 (Standard/Premium only). All plans include unlimited team members and daily tracking. There is a 14-day free trial, no credit card required.
Strengths
- The lowest published entry price of any dedicated tool in this comparison: $29/month.
- Unlimited team members and daily tracking on every plan; multi-country coverage claimed for 50+ countries and languages.
- Public API, Looker Studio connector, MCP — and since June 1, 2026, a Claude Skill and a workflow marketplace.
- A clearly published trial (14 days, no card), where several competitors leave the duration unstated.
Limits
- Base plans cover 4 of the 6 supported engines; Gemini and AI Mode each cost up to $149/month extra on Premium.
- No Claude tracking (announced as coming soon) and no Grok.
- Hard prompt quotas: 15 prompts on Lite is enough for a first diagnosis, not for serious category coverage.
- API and MCP only from Standard ($189) upward; the AI Prompt Research tool supports only specific languages, per the vendor's own help center.
- Otterly itself notes that its neutral monitoring can differ from what users see in personalized AI sessions — a fair caveat that applies to the whole category.
Profound — the enterprise heavyweight, up to 10 engines
Profound is the most heavily funded company in this comparison: a $96M Series C at a $1B valuation (February 2026), after a $20M Series A and a $35M Series B. It positions itself as a full answer-engine-optimization platform: answer engine insights, prompt volume data, autonomous marketing agents, and Agent Analytics that shows how AI crawlers traverse your site, with documented integrations for Cloudflare, Vercel, CloudFront, Fastly, Akamai, Netlify, WordPress, Shopify and Adobe Experience Manager (docs).
Engines covered
Coverage is steeply tiered. Starter tracks ChatGPT only. Growth tracks 3 engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews). Enterprise can track up to 10: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Meta AI, Grok, DeepSeek, Anthropic Claude and Google AI Overviews, per the official pricing page.
Published pricing
Starter $99/month (or $990/year): ChatGPT only, 50 prompts, 1,500 responses/month, 1 seat, 1 language, 1 region. Growth $399/month (or $3,990/year): 3 engines, 100 prompts, 9,000 responses/month, 3 seats, 6 optimized articles/month, with a "Try for free" trial whose length is not published. Enterprise on quote: up to 10 engines, SSO/SAML, SOC2, dedicated Slack support. Agency plans start at $99/month with workspace add-ons at $199–$399/month. Self-serve plans only arrived in October 2025; note the pricing page's own static meta description still reads "customized enterprise pricing", and the tier data renders client-side.
Strengths
- The widest potential engine coverage in this comparison (10 on Enterprise), including Claude, Grok, Meta AI and DeepSeek.
- Daily prompt runs, deep crawler analytics, an active public changelog, and a free AEO report from the homepage.
- Enterprise-grade compliance: SSO/SAML and SOC2 on the Enterprise tier.
Limits
- Everything interesting is gated: full engine coverage, multi-company tracking and compliance features are Enterprise-only, with no published price.
- Starter is genuinely narrow: ChatGPT only, 1 seat, 1 language, 1 region; Growth is still limited to 3 engines and 1 language.
- The Growth trial length is not published; prices are USD-only.
Knowatoa — 7 services at $199, on a weekly cadence
Knowatoa, built by co-founders Ryan Castillo and Michael Buckbee, tracks how brands appear across AI search services and turns the results into actions — competitor visibility gaps, citation analysis, sentiment alerts, and bundled AI agents (a content writer, an SEO analyst and a social-post drafter). Entry is a free 60-second audit with no credit card; the homepage counter reports over 100,000 audits run (self-reported).
Engines covered
Seven AI search services, each with a dedicated official monitoring page: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. The Starter plan covers only 3 of them (ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode); Growth and Enterprise cover all 7, per the pricing page. As of June 12, 2026 we found no mention of Grok, Microsoft Copilot or DeepSeek tracking anywhere on its official pages — an observed absence, not a vendor statement.
Published pricing
Starter $59/month; Growth $199/month, which adds the other 4 services plus the reporting stack (API access, MCP server, Looker Studio, NinjaCat) and a dedicated account rep; Enterprise on quote. Prices in USD, cancel anytime, annual billing available but annual prices are not displayed. There is no ongoing free plan, and the numeric question limits per plan are not published — the FAQ says all your sites share one account-level question limit.
Strengths
- Claude and Meta AI tracking at a published $199/month — rare outside enterprise quotes.
- Unlimited sites per account (sharing one question quota); every language and market supported on all plans, configurable per question.
- MCP server, competitor sitemap gap analysis, and a genuinely free, fast audit as the entry point.
Limits
- The cadence is weekly ("weekly digest of what changed"), where Peec AI, Otterly.AI, Profound and GEO console's Pro plan run daily.
- Starter covers only 3 of the 7 services; the reporting stack is Growth-and-up.
- No Grok, Copilot or DeepSeek coverage listed; only the default, most popular model of each service is queried, per the vendor's FAQ.
- Question limits are not published — you have to schedule a call to size a bigger plan.
Semrush, Ahrefs and SE Ranking — AI tracking as a suite add-on
If you already pay for an SEO suite, all three majors now sell AI visibility as a module. They are strong on Google's AI surfaces and weak on conversational assistants like Claude or Grok — with one exception noted below.
Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit — $99/month, no Claude, no Grok
Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit costs $99/month standalone with no free trial and a base quota of 25 tracked prompts. Brand Performance reports cover Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini; prompt position tracking is limited to ChatGPT and AI Mode (features doc). Microsoft Copilot, Grok and Claude are not listed as tracked answer engines — Claude appears only as a crawler in Site Audit. The toolkit is also bundled in Semrush One from $199.00/month (7-day free trial on the bundle).
Ahrefs Brand Radar — the Grok option, at a price
Ahrefs Brand Radar tracks six platforms — Google AI Overviews & AI Mode, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok — plus YouTube, TikTok and Reddit free while in beta. Its angle is scale: 384M+ monthly prompts sourced from real People Also Ask questions, run from the keyword's own location (methodology), with no cap on the brands you can analyze. Published pricing: Select Platforms $398/month, All Platforms $699/month, or per-index add-ons from $50/month on any paid Ahrefs plan (Grok index $199/month separately, per the April 2026 release notes). Two caveats: no Claude tracking, and the help docs note Grok data collection is temporarily paused as of our check. A free AI visibility checker offers a preview.
SE Ranking AI Visibility Tracker — a European add-on
SE Ranking's AI Visibility Tracker covers Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, with citation source analysis and history. It is sold as an AI Search add-on: on the subscription page (EUR display, June 2026) the add-on costs +€63.20/month with annual billing (+€79 monthly) on top of a platform plan (Core from €87.20/month annual). There is a 14-day free trial without a credit card. Limits: competitor tracking is capped at five competitors, the free checker allows 5 attempts/day, and the pricing page's add-on engine list omits Gemini even though the product page includes it — ask before you buy if Gemini matters to you. No Copilot, Grok or Claude coverage is stated.
Comparison table
Published facts only, as displayed on each vendor's official pages on June 12, 2026. "Not listed" means the engine appears nowhere in the vendor's official plan documentation — absence of a claim, not a vendor statement.

How to choose
There is no single best tool, because the products genuinely cover different surfaces. Start from the engines your buyers actually use, then match the budget.
- You want the conversational assistants — ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok — at a flat published price: GEO console (Pro, €199/month; Starter €79 for three of them). That is the gap we built it for.
- Google AI Overviews or AI Mode are your priority: Otterly.AI, Knowatoa, Semrush, SE Ranking or Peec AI all cover them in entry or mid plans; GEO console does not.
- Enterprise requirements (SOC2, SSO, maximum engine count, agencies at scale): Profound's Enterprise tier or Peec AI's Enterprise and agency credit plans — both on quote.
- Tightest budget: Otterly.AI Lite at $29/month or Knowatoa Starter at $59/month, accepting 15 prompts and 4 engines (Otterly) or 3 services and weekly cadence (Knowatoa). GEO console's free plan and checker cost nothing at all.
- You already pay for an SEO suite: the Semrush toolkit ($99), the Ahrefs Brand Radar add-on (from $50) or SE Ranking's AI Search add-on (from €63.20) bolt AI data onto the workflow you already have — but none of them tracks Claude.
- Grok specifically: only two published options exist in this comparison — GEO console Pro and Ahrefs Brand Radar (where Grok collection was paused at the time of checking). Profound lists Grok on its quote-based Enterprise tier.
Whichever you pick, run the same test: take 20 real customer questions, measure who gets cited for two weeks, and compare against your competitors. If you want to see the measurement first, test your site or browse the features and pricing — and read our guide to measuring AI share of voice for the method itself.

Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest way to track Claude and Grok?
Among the published prices in this comparison, GEO console's Pro plan at €199/month is the only listed price that includes both Claude and Grok. Knowatoa includes Claude (but not Grok) at $199/month, Ahrefs Brand Radar covers Grok (but not Claude) from $398/month or via an add-on, and Peec AI and Profound both place Claude behind custom-priced enterprise plans.
How much does an AI visibility tool cost in 2026?
Published entry prices range from $29/month (Otterly.AI Lite) to $99/month (Profound Starter, Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit), with Knowatoa at $59, GEO console at €79 and Peec AI at $95. Broad multi-engine coverage typically costs more: €199 for GEO console Pro, $199 for Knowatoa Growth, $399 for Profound Growth, $495 for Peec AI Advanced and $699 for Ahrefs Brand Radar All Platforms. Enterprise tiers are quote-based everywhere.
Do all AI visibility tools track Google AI Overviews?
No. Peec AI, Otterly.AI, Profound, Knowatoa, Semrush, Ahrefs and SE Ranking all track Google AI Overviews in at least one plan or add-on. GEO console does not: it focuses on five conversational assistants (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Grok) and does not query AI Overviews at all.
Which tool tracks the most AI engines?
On paper, Profound's Enterprise plan lists up to 10 answer engines, the widest coverage in this comparison. Knowatoa covers 7 services on its Growth plan, Peec AI offers 6 selectable models (3 included per plan, more on Enterprise), Otterly.AI supports 6 (4 included, 2 as paid add-ons), and Ahrefs Brand Radar tracks 6 platforms. GEO console and Semrush each cover 5, but not the same five.
